Years before he wound up in El Porto, owning and running El Porto Surf Shop & Player's Liquor - Woodrow "Pack" Landfair was a champion college baseball player training for a career as an officer in the Navy. 

After a back injury derailed his path, he pawned nearly everything he owned - including his College World Series ring - to set-out on a used motorcycle across all 48 contiguous states, with no plan of return. 

Road Journals is his raw, week-by-week account of that journey - capturing the people, places, odd jobs, and hard-won self-discovery that sustained him along the road. Written in real time, during 2006-2007, the book offers an unfiltered look at a young man rebuilding his identity on the open road, against the backdrop of a nation in constant evolution.
